Oxy Probes

Combined Thermocouple and ZrO electrolyte for rapid analysis in steel mills, ferrous and non-ferrous foundries.

During last years oxygen measurement has become more and more important in steel industry, in order to improve the quality of the final product and to speed up production processes. For this reason, a computerized system for oxygen measurement in EAF and ladles is of great importance, especially if it can be applied to oxidizing and deoxidizing models. Moreover, computer measurement gives the opportunity to analyse all the data (oxygen values, steel composition and temperature) in order to improve metallurgical models and steelmaking practice. Suyash OxyPro consists of an oxygen reference cell and a thermocouple. The two voltage signals of the cell and thermocouple are converted in the measuring instrument OxyTem into the digital oxygen-activity value. The OxyTem can be connected to any existing computer system.

  • Type S R or B Platinum calibration
  • Measure to 1750°C type S and R, 1800°C type B
  • Get very quick, reliable and accurate Carbon prediction in BOF and EAF
  • Help to control the deoxidation in steel and in ductile iron
  • Non splash protection in different lengths area also available
  • Contact block, hardware and software, interchangeable with major producer's probes

Details

A cardboard with a steel cap protect the sensitive elements from slag and floating solids and provides complete protection against rough handling and shipping damage...yet melts away quickly in the molten metal

Elements:
Thermocouple : Platinum. 10% Rhodium-Platinum (Type S), Platinum. 13% Rhodium-Platinum (Type R), or platinum30% Rhodium, Platinum. 6% Rhodium (Type B). Thermocouple has electrically welded measuring junction and electrically welded junctions between couple and compensating terminal leads.
Oxygen : Zr 0К oxyqen celi with mo~num stick wire connected in common with the negative of thermocouple.

Refractory body: featuring low thermal-conductivity, is cast after the measuring junction is positioned into a retainer and carefully controlled during dry procedure.

Standard flexible contact (or equivalent to HEN standard) guarantees a safe connection to the standard existing receptacle produced from major competitors.

Paper protection tube: Rigid, dry and must be tested from local engineers to assure that the thickness of the walls is enought to protect the lance during the immersion on the basis of the max bath temperature.

All conductors, terminals, and contacts are of thermocouple compensating materials to prevent thermal errors in the measuring system
